Reports  of teenagers getting pregnant and attempting abortion is arlaming


A clinic in koforidua in the Eastern region  of Ghana has detained a 17-year-old who failed to pay after a successful abortion conducted on her.

The Cosmas Demien Clinic is holding the teenager for her inability to pay the sum of GHC490 for the illegal operation.



Hospital detains girl over abortion fee

According to the clinic, the lady was rushed to the facility almost dead when an attempted abortion by a quack doctor turned complicated.

Report monitored on GBC,  Kojo Ansah narrated that the clinic has therefore seized a police enquiry form seeking investigations into the conduct of a supposed quack doctor operating in the region.

The further stated that the girl was discharged on Monday but her father failed to raise the bill even after selling his two goats.

Medical director at the hospital Dr Demien Akwetey has said until the entire bill is paid by the family, the girl will not be released.

A female self-confessed ‘child-kidnapping witch doctor’ -was stripped naked and beaten before being sexually assaulted after she was caught right in the act. The woman – it is reported – had been caught red-handed trying to lure away young children with promises of ice cream in Imo state.
