And although he can breathe through the tubes, one day the baby will need plastic surgery to form a normal nose.




A deformity was caused by Patau syndrome

Angelito will also have to undergo medical tests to determine how else the mutation had affected his body functions.

The doctors believe that a deformity is a result of an extremely rare genetic condition called Patau syndrome, which happens once in every 15,000 births.






More than 80% of children with Patau syndrome die within the first year of life

More than 80% of children with Patau syndrome die within the first year of life. Children with the mosaic variation are usually affected to a lesser extent.
