- The 75-year-old man is seeking for another wife after the death of his wife

- The Tanzanian man is also a father of eleven children

A 75-year-old man in has shocked area residents after putting up advertisements for



The Tanzanian man, Athumani Mchambua put up advertising posts to search for a partner willing to become his wife after the death of his partner.

The posts were put up in Mbagala area in Dar es Salaam asking for promising candidates to apply and show up for an interview.


The man seeks a successful candidate who must be hardworking, able to handle farm work and be willing to be a step-mother to his 11 children.

"I felt that if I was to use a traditional intermediary to find a wife, they might find a woman and then want to keep her for themselves. That's why I decided that I search for her on my own, and put out those posters,"Mchambua told the BBC



He has so interviewed four candidates but no one had all the qualities he is seeking.

His daughter Dalia is happy with the process and supports her father's decision to seek a wife by advertising.
