SAD: Man Pours Acid On His Girlfriend

Stephen Donkor, a 21-year-old bus conductor (mate), has been arrested for pouring acid on his girlfriend, who was planning to leave him.



Police say Donkor and his girlfriend, Ofori, who lived in a wooden kiosk at Dakurman in Accra, had been quarreling for some time.

Oforiwaa, 18, had reportedly been threatening to leave the relationship.

According to the police, Donkor returned from work last month and realised that there was no food to eat.

It led to a fight between the two, which prompted a neighbour to intervene.

Later when Oforiwaa was sleeping, Donkor went to pick acid he had hidden under the kiosk and poured it on her.

Oforiwaa is said to have screamed for help, drawing the attention of neighbours, who rushed her to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, where she is still undergoing treatment.

Police say Donkor poured the acid on Oforiwaa because he suspected that she was cheating on him.

He has been arrested and charged with attempted murder.

A female self-confessed ‘child-kidnapping witch doctor’ -was stripped naked and beaten before being sexually assaulted after she was caught right in the act.
