Education director canes female teacher in classroom

 Enyonam Afi Amefugah, a regional director of education in the Western Region,  Ghana is said to have lashed a class two teacher of the Well Rose Methodist School in Sekondi with a cane.

Amefugah, according to a report by 3news.com, lashed the female teacher 

(name withheld) because she had also lashed pupils of her class who had reported to school late.
 Amefugah, whose office is said to be adjacent the school, was reportedly driving by the school to his office when he spotted the teacher caning the pupils.
 He is said to have angrily rushed into the classroom to reprimand the teacher for her action. He then reportedly proceeded to take the cane from her and lash her.
 The report said other teachers in the school who were angry at Amefugah's conduct liaised with the Ghana National Association of Teachers to file a complaint against him. 
The development is said to have provoked a crunch meeting by the educational unit of Methodist schools, officials of the Well Rose school, the Ghana Education Office in the Region and both the female teacher and Amefugah.
