what a pity there is not a tax on words.what an income nations would have generated,but alas talking pays no toll.
And if lies pays double the government might be able to pay its international dept,pay all teachers and also provide social security for the public..But who would collect such money?.Common fame is a common liar.
Hearsay is half lie. They who talk much lie much.If men say only what is true..what a peaceful world it would be. Some people lie just for the fun of it...a bad habit...Some lie to cover save them selves when in trouble or to hide shame.Silence soldom makes mischief but talking is a plague in the parish.Silence is wisdom,and by this rule wise men and women are scarce.
Still waters are the deepest but shallow Brooks brawl the most.This shows how plentiful fools must be.
An open mouth shows an empty head..talking comes by nature...many people are in trouble today because of the way and manner they talk. It needs good deal of training to learn to be quite....
If we must talk at least let it be free from slander,rumour and idle talk.Let us not blister our tongue with with backbiting.slander may be sport to talebearers,but it is death to those whom they abuse.
We can commit murder with the tongue as well as with the hand.The worst evil you can do to a man is to injure his character....I had a taste of such abuse before...
I received a phone call from someone accusing me of things I new nothing about...the caller refuse to identify herself and from whom she got such information.I call that same number several times but remained switched off. God knows where ever this issue would have been discussed.what a farce..
.Let us be careful that we do hurt our neighbours in so tender a point as their character,for it is hard to get dirt off,once it is thrown on it.when a man is once on people's bad books it is hardly ever quite out of them.If any man offend not in word the same is a perfect man,and also able to bridle the whole body.
