Leader of assemblies of God church chased out of headquarters
Emeka felt aggrieved so he went to court to seek legal interpretation to spiritual matters.
Unfortunately, he lost the case and the church wielded the BIG hammer.
A panel of justices of the Supreme Court dismissed an appeal he filed to challenge his removal as the church’s leader.
The church, now led by the new General Superintendent, Revd. Chidi Okoroafor, recovered its Enugu national secretariat from Emeka with the aid of the police.
This sparked even more controversy as the Men of God sought other ways to reclaim their share of the Kingdom here on earth.
But Emeka had launched a fresh campaign to take over the headquarters of the religious body.
It was gathered that Emeka had appealed to the Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, a fellow Nsukka man, for help in his quest to recover the church’s national secretariat from Okoroafor.
However, the leaders of the church, under the aegis of the Incorporated Trustees of the Assemblies of God, Nigeria, have released a statement, in which they announced Emeka’s excommunication.
The statement, signed by the General Secretary of the Assemblies of God, Nigeria, Revd. Dr. Godwin Amaowoh, stressed that Emeka is no longer a member, pastor or official of the church, having been dismissed for playing the role of an “Anti-Christ” in the religious organisation.
