A 46-year-old Delaware woman, Elaine Goodman has been accused of sleeping with the boyfriend of her 13-year-old daughter.

Elaine was sentenced to probation on Thursday after she pleaded guilty to charges brought up against her in November 2016.

Superior Court judge at the Kent County, Robert Young sentenced her to two years of probation and was asked to attend counselling for sexual disorders as well as getting on the sexual offender’s register.

Police in Smyrna arrested and charged her with fourth-degree rape after she was reported for having sex with a minor.



The News Journal reports that the culprit’s Lawyer, James Liguor told the court that his client was sorry for her actions and sentencing her to prison was not the solution.

“I just know she is truly, truly hurt to the core by how much she hurt so many people,” he said.

According to a weeping Goodman, her actions had hurt people and were terrible.

“I know sorry is just a word, but I really am,” she told the court



Court reports available indicate that the minor visited Goodman in her home at around 1:00 am after he left his home without his parent’s permission on March 15, 2015, and stayed till 4:30 am.

Deputy Attorney General Denise Weeks-Tappan also in her submission said the mother had been selfish and didn’t consider the health and wellness of the boy

“The crime has affected the victim in many ways,” Ms Weeks Tappan disclosed to the Court.”He’s hurt, embarrassed and it is affecting his schooling”
