Recession my foot Suffering in the midst of plenty

Nigerians welcomed buhari with open arms, as the slogan goes.... change..means  better living standards for all. but that is a far cry from what is happening now. The majority of Nigerians are sad, unhappy, hungry some feel betrayed...The  romance and trust is gradually fading out.

To the ordinary Nigerians their expectations has faded out like  morning fog,  Its like a good dream that never came to pass.    ...right now it seems the ordinary Nigerians have fallen from the source pan into the fire.
what Nigerians are going through now is  hyper inflation,or is it recession. The naira is becoming more like a piece of paper..it's value is depreciating every day.Buhari is punishing the masses.

I brought a pack of herbal toothpaste for # 180 about a month ago.  few days ago just  a little over a month I went to the same supermarket to get another pack it was now #250 an increase of #70.

Now people are talking about recession..the fact is that we have been in recession since the Jonathan Administration..

The Government failed to see the hand writing on the wall because they where busy sharing the nation's wealth with dasuki as the chief looter.
Some have stolen billions to last them and their children a life time.

when a man has malaria it's first conterminate the blood before the symptoms start manifesting physically,yes...the contamination started during the Jonathan Administration that is the case with Nigeria.now we are feeling the symptoms,Nigeria need  a doctor now and not just a doctor a good one.

what is recession.

It is a time when there is not enough business, trade, work etc.,that is how my dictionary explains recession.

Some policy introduced by the government of buhari and increase in petrol price created room for hyper inflation which finally crash landed the economy.

If I may ask why recession,in a country so blessed...

Agriculture
human resources
mineral  resources
and so much oil

There are reasons for our present predicament..our previous government was a reckless spender.
The previous government failed to plan for the future.
There is rapid population  growth so many people contesting for available business, trade, jobs etc.
Even the number of students seeking admission into higher institutions has trippled compared to 10 years ago.

No improvement in infrastructure and job creation to take the increase.

Too much spending on unnecessary and frivolous importation.making the Naira weak and the dollar stronger.

The government seem confused, they did not envisage this kind of economic downturn. Those in charge have not told the nation how they intend to tackle the problem, all we hear is asking citizens to be patient.

yes there is no gain without pain, that is a fact but the masses should not be made to suffer for bad leadership, those who are government just to satisfy their corrupt minds.implement policies to protect their stolen wealth.

Can buhari deliver on his promise...he said we should be patient...lets give him the benefit of the doubt.lets be patient.he needs your prayers to turn the economy around for good.

Buhari is  a  good man.He has good intentions,But has a problem.
Most of  those in his cabinet are politicians. They do not have the same vision, they are not capable, they have nothing new to offer Nigerians.

Buhari alone cannot do the work.imagine if buhari allowed the spending spree just like Mr good luck to continue, things will remain the same but the situation might get worse than this eventually.

Nigerians import almost everything including, toothpicks, old, new, tokumbo even used underwear such as ladies bra and pant...imagine..This must stop if we want  the economy to turn around.

The government policy do not favour the masses, can we now say buhari is the president for the people.No. far from it.

Actually this  recession is not for the rich and highly placed. This recession is for the masses.they are the ones feeling the pinch of recession.
The unpaid workers, those earnings #15.000 Naira a month.those who cannot afford to eat three times  a day.Families of public workers that have died waiting to collect their pension.

Senators, legislators other government officials still go home with huge salaries and other benefits..what a greedy and cruel leaders we have in this country,

Some state governments where even asking Labour to reduce the #18,000 minimum wage.

Recently Senate president  saraki said in an interview that they are also feeling the pain of  The economic recession..

That is propaganda.

More over when I look around its hard to believe Nigerians are in any kind of recession..There are elaborate parties every where on weekends, shopping malls are still crowded with shoppers...

Recession is a time when all kind of celebrations should be low key...but it seems parties are going on endlessly.

Let's take a look at other countries going through recession...example Indonesia. an oil producing country..
it has reach a stage  food supply is being rationed, shopping malls are empty the country is  in a lockdown situation . that is recession.

we are the architects of our problems. business people increase prices of their goods and services at  will, when they feel like.

In conclusion Nigeria can be paradise for all including foreigners.buhari must  stop his excuses and put his team into action There are brilliant Nigerians that are not part of his government but can give excellent ideas to bring us out this economic downturn.

*Introduce mechanized farming for young graduates with loan, support and supervision.

*T he economy should  be diversified.
*local industries should increase their production capacity.
*Encourage export of locally produced good
*Our art and culture industry can be further developed...this sector  can make  billions of Naira yearly

Let Nigeria ones again  take her place as the giant of Africa.
